The Last of Us, The Best of Us, and Saving the Best for Last
Interview with Christian from MN Nice Entheogens and more.
The world is full of nice people and we need to connect. Today, I had the pleasure of speaking with Christian from MN Nice Entheogens - a nice person, indeed. He is one of the Best of Us.
I found him from a link from Amanita Dreamer’s page. He is the only source for Amanita in the US and I wanted to let him know about The Red Cap Remedy. We shared a few emails and finally got some time together.
There is so much interest in using mushrooms and other plant medicines to treat PTSD, Anxiety/Depression, and Grief. I have witnessed people within my community move through addiction into wellness, and personally began my own journey with plant teachers after being invited to a Church of the Santo Daime in the late 1990s. I am grateful that I got to experience ayahuasca in this safe and sacred container.
Christian and I spoke about building community with love and this resonated with me deeply. Amanita Muscaria has been working in his conscious and unconscious mind for a while too. The mycorrhizal networks of mushrooms and their symbiotic relationships with nature resonate with us both. Connecting with nature on its terms is something that we share.
And no, this is not IRL The Last of Us an HBO movie based on the 2013 video game developed by Naughty Dog, the series is set in 2023, twenty years into a global pandemic caused by a mass fungal infection, which forces its hosts to transform into zombie-like creatures and collapses society. I was resigned to the fact that if this actually did work, it was probably a placebo, and that was fine. But then I ran out and had several pain flares send me to the ER.
